Stayed at a "variety of accommodation types" with "free parking and private balcony". Engaged in "various activities", including snorkeling and fishing. The helpful staff assisted me with "car rental and taxi service". Free wifi was provided throughout the property.

The location was fantastic, with an excellent view of the surrounding hills. the staff were very friendly and the room was clean. the property as a whole was well-maintained. Despite being a basic apartment, it was conveniently close to everything, allowing us to easily come and go as we pleased. The lady who ran the place was incredibly helpful and made sure we had everything we needed, even accommodating our daughter using the second room of our apartment to get ready for her wedding on the beach. Cons: Nothing bad to say. 👍.

it had a perfect and magnificent setting just next door to the beach, the shopping area, the bus stop to go to phaistos, the klimbing tour to the romantic red beach, the beautiful mountains and classic pubs with a hippie touch. very amiable and amicable staff and the stay was pleasant.

The apartment was absolutely perfect and magnificent by the sea. It was just next door to massive mountains, the main square, and the beach, restaurants, and shops. We greatly enjoyed the views of the mountain. We met super friendly staff there.

The host was kind and helpful, and even gave us salt when we couldn't find any. The location was perfect, with the beach and amenities within easy reach. The rooms were clean and had nice balconies. Having two air conditioners was a plus, and the owner told us about a great beach with fewer stones in the water.

I had a fantastic stay at a charming hotel with an very nice location in the heart of Matala. The owner, Aphrodite, was so warm and cute, making me feel right at home. She even cooked me a delicious breakfast each morning which I enjoyed on the front patio, taking in the sights of the town. My room had a kitchenette and a porch with fine views of the stars and the Red Beach. Aphrodite's deep connection to the town allowed her to introduce me to locals and share fascinating history. I even discovered that Matala View was mentioned on the Joni Mitchell website! If you're heading to the South of Crete, I highly recommend staying at this gem of a hotel. a wonderful experience.

I always stay here. No regrets. Staff was helpful first visit with bug spray. Perfect place for me. Wi-Fi, kettle, cookware, A/C, airport shuttle, hiking. Coming back for business trip.

Despite some minor drawbacks, such as basic crockery and a need for better washing facilities, we had a pleasant stay overall.

The room at Matala View was amazing! It had a private bathroom with a shower, which was really convenient for me as a disabled traveler. The kitchenette in the apartment was a bonus, allowing me to prepare some of my own meals. the room was cozy and had everything I needed.

stayed in matala recently, but matala view exceeded expectations last valentine's day. excellent location, friendly owner, and scrumptious breakfast on the front patio. cook in the kitchenette or dine at nearby restaurants. introduced to locals and learned about the town's history. memorable stay!
